Andrew is responsible for managing the Red Box Design Group. He also has great experience of a broad range of building types and has been responsible for the design of many of the most significant buildings completed by the Practice.

He has particular skills in interpreting and extracting the most complicated client’s brief and translating it into a high quality architectural solution, without losing sight of technical or commercial realities. As a result his design and management skills have always been in great demand, and particularly successful in competition.

    City centre housing, Newcastle upon Tyne -116 units in the form of apartments and town houses around a private courtyard and mews within 200m of Newcastle city centre.
  • Nissan Yamato Engineering
    Engineering plant and offices, Washington, Tyne & Wear -325,000 sq ft.
  • North Dock
    Masterplanning and detailed design of 500 houses and apartments at the mouth of the River Wear based around a new marina, including the relocation of existing businesses into a new Marine Activity Centre.
  • Nissan European Technology Centre
    Award winning headquarters offices, design and styling studios, research and development facility, Cranfield, Bedfordshire - 100,000 sq ft.
  • Newcastle Quayside Regeneration
    New public square and leisure building at the heart of the Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne. 
  • Energy Centres
    285 retail units for British Gas, throughout the UK, involving all aspects of design from name generation to detailed design and project management.

    Chipboard manufacturing plant and offices, Scotland - 500,000 sq ft.
  • Tyne Bridge Hilton
    250 bedroom 5 star hotel on a steeply sloping prominent site on the banks of the River Tyne, Gateshead.
  • Northern Rock Campus Development
    Masterplanning and detailed design of headquarters offices linked to existing buildings by a new internal street and a series of new ‘public’ internal spaces. Developed in 7 phases over 15 years. Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne - 500,000 sq ft.
  • Northern Rock Tower
    10 storey landmark building for Northern Rock at the gateway to the campus in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne - 150, 000 sq ft
  • Red Box Development
    A mixed-use development in Newcastle city centre including offices, loft apartments, art gallery and restaurant, within a Grade II listed building incorporating a fountain courtyard and roof garden for Red Box Design Group. Newcastle upon Tyne - 100,000 sq ft.
  • One NorthEast - Stella House
    New headquarters offices for the regional development agency at Newburn Riverside. Environmental exemplar building. Newcastle upon Tyne - 75,000 sq ft.
  • The Cube
    Award winning infill office development, Newcastle upon Tyne - 35,000 sq ft.
  • Baltic Business Park
    The masterplanning of a new urban office quarter forming part of the Gateshead Quays redevelopment. The scheme is based around a network of new public boulevards and car parking is hidden from public view within enclosed courtyards - 1.5million sq ft.

    New college on an urban site at the Baltic Business Park adjacent to Gateshead Town Centre and the Gateshead Quays - 150, 000 sq ft.
